Cookie Policy

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember things like whether you are logged in or which theme you prefer. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage and pixels; this policy covers all of them.

Categories we use

Strictly necessary

These are required to run Nutripedia. They keep you signed in via Firebase Auth and protect against cross-site request forgery. You cannot switch them off without breaking the site, and they do not require consent under PECR.

Functional

Remember preferences like your theme or last-viewed items. Set only when you interact with the relevant feature.

Analytics (optional)

Help us understand which pages are useful and where things break. We only set these if you give consent through the cookie banner. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the consent and choosing again when the banner reappears.

Third parties

  • Firebase Auth (Google) — session cookies to keep you signed in.
  • Google Analytics — only if enabled and consented to. Used in aggregate to improve the product.

Managing cookies

Use the cookie banner to accept or reject optional cookies. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings — refer to your browser’s help pages for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break parts of the service.
